Approiximation methods for geophysical flows. Classical numerical methods have been proposed for several decades with some very recent improvements, for example in structural methods. Recently learning methods began to give interesting results for some particular applications (e.g. meteorology). The objective of the project is to investigate how one can propose new hybrid methods for oceanographic applications for which the amount of data is not so large.

Description and additional information
Strenghts of the offer/Expected benefits
In Paris, a joint INRIA team with oceanographers from Sorbonne Université will be created next year. the hybrid methods will be one of the main research theme of the team. In Malaga, the numerical analysis team around C. Pares and M. Castro Diaz work on similar subjects. To share experiences will benefit to everyone and could lead to new ideas.
