The research stay will contribute to the development of the emerging research and teaching line in Culinary and Wine Tourism Studies at THWS Business School. The focus will be on an exploratory project entitled “International Benchmarking of Culinary and Wine Tourism Programs”, aiming to identify international best practices in curriculum design, industry collaboration, and regional positioning. The project will collect and analyse data from comparable academic programs worldwide in order to support the strategic development and positioning of the new Bachelor’s degree program Culinary and Wine Tourism.
The internship will take place at the THWS Business School, which offers a dynamic and international environment for applied research. The new Culinary and Wine Tourism program provides a unique platform that bridges academia, regional gastronomy, and the wine industry in Franconia. The invited fellow will benefit from access to regional networks of culinary and wine tourism actors, as well as to the academic infrastructure of THWS (library resources, digital tools, and workspace). The collaboration will provide valuable intercultural and academic experience in a European applied sciences context. For the host institution, the stay will contribute to strengthening international research partnerships within the UNINOVIS network and will support the conceptual and strategic development of the new study program through insights gained from the benchmarking research.
