Fabien Cazes

A researcher who will bring their own material and is primarily interested in experimental characterization (mechanical testing, DIC, XRD, optional asymmetric rolling). Hands-on with specimen preparation and test design. Comfortable with data handling and basic analysis. Open to basic numerical support in a second phase. Prior experience in fracture or plasticity is a plus, but not mandatory.

Research lines/projects

The invited researcher will bring his/her own material, which will be experimentally characterized using our mechanical testing and metrology facilities. Depending on the project, the characterization may include Digital Image Correlation (DIC), X-ray diffraction (XRD), or asymmetric rolling tests to study microstructure, property relationships and residual stresses. Additional tools such as laser profilometry can be mobilized as needed. In the longer term, the collaboration may extend to numerical modeling and data-driven analysis.

Strenghts of the offer/Expected benefits

The host laboratory (LSPM, UNIVERSITE PARIS 13) offers advanced experimental and numerical facilities for mechanical and materials characterization, including mechanical testing, Digital Image Correlation (DIC), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and asymmetric rolling. The environment combines hands-on experimentation, data analysis, and modeling expertise, fostering strong scientific interaction. The visiting researcher will gain direct access to platforms, close mentoring, and integration within an active research network in mechanics and materials science.

Preferred duration

No preference

Period in which the internship can be made

Ideally April, May, June, July
